Journey to the Ivy Leagues: Anxiety

Disclaimer: Journey to the Ivy Leagues is a mini series documenting different topics of my journey to the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League institution. I also discuss my graduate school applications for other universities and document my experiences toward higher education. Check out previous entries for more background. :)

It has been about three weeks since my graduate school applications were due and let's face it, I am incredibly anxious. So far, I have only been contacted by Temple, because there was another document that they needed from me. Luckily it did not keep them from reviewing my application because I was notified that they were doing just that. It is exciting to know that they are looking, but it is also nervewrecking to have not heard anything back yet. But no worries, I have faith that they will be requesting an interview sometime soon! We will see!

The hardest part for me is waiting. According to my research it takes most universities at least four weeks to request an interview from a student and/or at least six weeks to make a direct acceptance. From what I understand, some programs require interviews, some will simply accept or deny and others will do a combination of the two depending on how competitive the university is or to better evaluate the student. It is neither a good or a bad thing to get an interview, in general. I am going into foreign language as a non-native speaker so I am anticipating an interview but I know that if I get it, that acceptance letter will follow! I JUST DON'T WANT TO WAIT ANYMORE.

Let's just say, at this point in my journey I am impatiently waiting to hear back from my grad schools! I am hopeful and positive, but incredibly impatient and ready! Anyone else feeling like me?
